Annual Audit in Malaysia
Companies operating in Malaysia are required to have their financial statements audited annually, as mandated by the Companies Act 2016. These audits must be conducted by independent auditors registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). The audit requirement applies to private limited companies (Sdn. Bhd.), public companies, and foreign companies operating in Malaysia.
As a one-stop service provider, ATA Outsourcing Malaysia, with its team of experienced auditors, is pleased to offer comprehensive audit services tailored to your company’s needs.

Public Companies
Public companies listed on Bursa Malaysia are subject to more stringent audit and financial reporting requirements. These companies must adhere to the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), with their financial statements audited annually by qualified independent auditors.
Foreign Companies Operating in Malaysia
Foreign companies operating in Malaysia may also be subject to statutory audit requirements, depending on their business activities and corporate structure. The audit requirements vary, and it is crucial for foreign entities to seek professional advice to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
Annual Audit Deadline
Audited financial statements must be filed annually with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) within six months after the financial year-end. Failure to comply may result in penalties for late submission.
